We had a great time at the King County Fair, the oldest county fair west of the Mississippi, incidentally. A number of people stopped for a while to sew a little bag. Most of them were youngsters and yes, they used the sewing machine (with help) and did a great job--no accidents and a lot of satisfaction!
In keeping with the "Green" theme of this year's fair, one of our fellow exhibitors was a woman who teaches diaper making classes--and not just diapers, but diapers from your own recycled materials. With two old wool sweaters, two pairs of jeans and 20 old t-shirts you can make make a year and a half's worth of diapers. If you'd like to know more you can visit her here.
