UFO Sighting!

NOVEMBER

November is Finish Your U.F.Os Month. Come with your Un-Finished Objects and we'll do our best to give you that last little push you need to get them done. As you know, we have fabric, notions and embellishments for you to use, and will help you however we can. And if you don't have anything to finish and want to start something instead, well, that's fine too.

The November session will be our last sewing get-together at Goods for the Planet. Our friend and patron Suzanne will be closing the store at the end of the year. We hate to see her go, not to mention her really wonderful business. SewUpSeattle can't thank her enough for enabling us to realize our dream of an ongoing sewing-recycling adventure.

We aren't going away, though. We don't yet know what form SewUpSeattle will take, or where we will be having classes but we are determined to continue in some way. If we could find another venue that would not only host our classes, but let us store some of our stuff on site (those machines are heavy!) that would be ideal. So, any leads, thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. Send them our way. Meanwhile we will continue our efforts to get unwanted fabric into the hands of those who can use it.

Check in here from time to time, we'll be posting new developments and information about any special events that SUS will be part of.

Thanks, everyone, for your support over these last few years.

Due to allergies and sensitivities, we ask that you come fragrance-free. It really helps. Thanks!

Basics for Sew Up Seattle classes:

Share our scraps, sewing machines and tools, or bring your own if you like.

Beginners are definitely welcome! Those with more sewing experience can work at their level by going creative, or helping out our newcomers.

Donating Fabric

If you have fabric you would like to pass along, you can check Northwest Sewing Efforts for a list of non-profit organizations that need sewing and other textile -related supplies. You might find the perfect place. Otherwise, contact SewUpSeattle, and we'll be glad to take it.

If you know of an organization that would like to be added to the list, contact SewUpSeattle and we'll see to it. Thanks!

The NW Sewing Efforts web page is hosted by Lutherans Online, and we thank them.
